Semiant Chrome Browser Extension

The browser extension is a key element of Semiant: It allows you to access the Semiant glossary on any website.

Access your Glossaries from any Website

You can create and curate your glossaries in the Semiant web application. But the real value of a glossary is using it from anywhere.

Use the Semiant Browser Extension as follows:

Step 1: Install the Extension

For now, available for Chrome and Edge

Step 2: Pin Icon

After installation, you need to pin the Semiant icon. Click on the puzzle piece and click on the pin. You will now see the Semiant icon in your toolbar

Step 3: Log in

Click on the Semiant icon. The first time you do this, Semiant will show a pop up and prompt for you to log in.

Important: You must close the page with the extension information for this to work.

Step 4: Activate on any Website

Click on the icon on any website. Semiant will (1) highlight terms from your personal glossaries and (2) show them in the sidebar, where you can click to see the definitions. (3) You can also toggle visibility of your complete glossary. (4) In the settings, you can adjust which of your glossaries shall be used. (5) Jump to the Semiant application for further details on the glossary term. (6) you can hide the side pane, while leaving the highlighting intact. To disable the extension, simply click the extension icon again.
