Access your Glossaries from any Website
You can create and curate your glossaries in the Semiant web application. But the real value of a glossary is using it from anywhere.
Use the Semiant Browser Extension as follows:
Step 2: Pin Icon
After installation, you need to pin the Semiant icon. Click on the puzzle piece and click on the pin. You will now see the Semiant icon in your toolbar


Step 3: Log in
Click on the Semiant icon. The first time you do this, Semiant will show a pop up and prompt for you to log in.
Important: You must close the page with the extension information for this to work.
Step 4: Activate on any Website
Click on the icon on any website. Semiant will (1) highlight terms from your personal glossaries and (2) show them in the sidebar, where you can click to see the definitions. (3) You can also toggle visibility of your complete glossary. (4) In the settings, you can adjust which of your glossaries shall be used. (5) Jump to the Semiant application for further details on the glossary term. (6) you can hide the side pane, while leaving the highlighting intact. To disable the extension, simply click the extension icon again.

Manual Installation Instructions

1. Open Extensions
Open the Extension Settings: Menu > More tools > Extensions.

2. Enable Developer Mode
Use the slider on the top right of the Extensions page.

3. Download the Extension
Ask your account manager for the download link.
4. Unpack the Extension
Important: Unpack the files at a location where you want to keep them for good. You must not delete them after installation. You should find a folder called “dist” in the extracted directory.
5. Install the Extension
Click on “Load unpacked” and select the “dist” folder that you just unpacked.

At this point, you should see that Semiant got installed.

6. Make the Extension Icon visible
Click on the Puzzle symbol and then on the Pin symbol, so that the Semiant logo appears in the toolbar. You need this to activate Semiant.

7. Authorizing
You can now visit any web site. If you want to see highlighting of terms that you have in your glossary, simply click on the toolbar icon.
The first time you activate it, you will get a login popup:

8. Using the Extension
Now you can click on the icon on any page. A sidepane will open and show all the gloss terms in your glossary.
Clicking on the robot will hide the pane, but leave the highlighting intact. You can deactivate Semiant on a page by clicking on the toolbar icon a second time.

9. Updating
We will update the extension frequently. You can simply unpack new versions of the extension into the folder where you initially unpacked it.
You still need to navigate to the “Extensions” page and click on “Update”.
